Melnikoff Receives CTBS Designation
November 19, 2018
Biocut® Systems is pleased to announce that Don Melnikoff, President, has passed the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS) exam. The AATB CTBS examination is comprised of test items intended to assess the comprehensive knowledge, understanding, and application of the AATB Standards for Tissue Banking, relevant regulations, and best practices associated with tissue banking.
The CTBS designation is the only professional designation available specifically for the tissue banking community, and therefore encompasses all levels of tissue banking professionals, from those new to tissue banking, all the way through to medical directors and executives. AATB recently opened the opportunity to attain this designation to their affiliate members which Don is one of the first to pass.
Frank Wilton, AATB President and CEO had the following to say, “We’re so pleased to congratulate all the individuals from our affiliate member institutions who recently passed the CTBS exam. It’s exciting to see a wider range of individuals taking advantage of the opportunity to become Certified Tissue Bank Specialists, and is a real testament to the commitment that these professionals have both for their work, and for the donor families and recipients we serve.”
“As Frank alluded too, Biocut® as a company is committed to this industry while honoring the donors, donor families and recipients. We believe this work is meaningful, our vision is focused on aiding in human recovery. By passing the CTBS we show the AATB community that we understand the challenges they face. More of our employees will be presented the opportunity to get the CTBS designation,” stated Don Melnikoff.
